The 4Men is a coporate-sponsored super hero team, founded to protect Washington D.C. and to mass market promotional materials. They were successful at both tasks until an ambush by foes left most of the team dead. With t-shirt and poster sales at stake, the team was quietly replaced by new supers using the identities of the old, except for the original speedster, Liveline, who had proven to be too much of a prima donna anyway. It is perhaps ironic that Liveline is the only one known by name.
