Karla Sofen was a professional psychologist who entered villainy as an assistant to Dr. Faustus, probably in order to pay off student loan debts. After her internship she stole an alien rock and the identity of a pre-existing villain and became Moonstone. As Moonstone she has been a villain, then a hero, then a villain again. She has also been both a hero and villain as Meteorite and as Ms. Marvel, proving that psychologists are just as susceptible to mental illness as everyone else.
