Liberty Belle is a heroine whose powers are derived from the Liberty Bell. It seems like originally the actual Bell had to be ringing for her powers to work which limited her availability to pretty much earshot. Eventually her powers were rectonned to a piece of the Bell she carried with her, which I guess makes as much sense as anything in comics. In later years her own daughter inherits the name, powers, and presumably the chunk of the Bell to carry her legacy into the 21st century.
