“We have a saying, my people. Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue if you can pacify, and don’t raise your hand at all until you’ve first extended it.”

Wonder Woman is a character that actually needs no introduction. Instantly recognizable, she has been fighting injustice longer than most of us have been alive. First introduced in 1941 she is one of a handful of characters to survive into the current age. Fewer still have been the subject of both television and movie features.

Fun fact: Until the 21st century she was actually something of a golem, but since then a friendly retcon gave her biological life and a real, mythical family. Either origin, animated statue or divine love child, could explain her longevity.

In almost a century of existence Wonder Woman has become the gold standard of female superheroines. She has spawned dozens of knockoffs, rip-offs, and parodies and outlasted them all. In the mythology of superhero comics, Wonder Woman is the queen, THE Superheroine.
