One of the most literal incarnations of an Ace, the DC Ace represents the ace card for the Royal Flush Gang. He is essentially a regular guy who wields weapons of varying degrees of technological advancement depending on the universe occupied.
I get the feeling that this is a role with a lot of understudies, and there may be a lot of turnover in the “Ace” persona. In Justice League: Doom 
he is actually a bad-tempered robot 
(at least I hope so, since Superman dismembers him).
